Team USATF roster set for 2018 NACAC Senior Championships7/31/2018
INDIANAPOLIS -- Team USATF will send 93 athletes to Toronto, Canada for the 2018 North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC) Senior Championships to be held at Varsity Stadium, August 10-12. Highlighting Team USATF are a pair of 2018 world-leaders Sandi Morris (Fayetteville, Arkansas) and Keni Harrison (Clayton, North Carolina). On July 27, Morris, the American record holder, leapt to a world-leading vault of 4.95m/16-2.75 just five centimeters shy of her personal best. Harrison, the 100m hurdles world record holder, hurdled her way to an event world lead of 12.36 at Diamond League - London. American record holder Deanna Price (Moscow Mills, Missouri) looks to continue her stellar season. Price currently holds the third farthest throw of 2018, which was her American record toss of 78.12m/256-03 at the USATF Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, IA. The American record title has bounced back and forth between Price and Gwen Berry during a season in which the two ladies have joined the world ranks in the hammer throw. On the men’s side, Darrell Hill (Darby, Pennsylvania) is coming off his USATF Outdoor Championship title in which he threw 21.57m/70-9.25 in Des Moines. More recently, Hill placed second at both the Athletics World Cup in London (21.43m/70-3.75) and Diamond league Monaco (21.72m/71-3.25). Lopez Lomong (Lake Oswego, Oregon) is coming off his first USATF Outdoor title since he claimed back-to-back 1500 titles in 2009 and 2010. In June at the USATF Outdoor Championships, Lomong took off with 400m to go, clocked a 54.16 last lap to win the 10,000m in 28:58.38.
